  • The HOBT group was featured in Monday’s WDN: http://www.winonadailynews.com/articles/2008/10/20/news/00lead.txt.

  • Kery Erickson passes this along:

Minnesota voters, when they go to the polls on Nov. 4, will have an opportunity to vote on a proposed Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment. During the 2008 session, the Minnesota Legislature agreed to place the amendment on the ballot.

The question that will be on the 2008 General Election ballot will state:
“Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to dedicate funding to protect our drinking water sources; to protect, enhance, and restore our wetlands, prairies, forests, and fish, game, and wildlife habitat; to preserve our arts and cultural heritage; to support our parks and trails; and to protect, enhance, and restore our lakes, rivers, streams, and groundwater by increasing the sales and use tax rate beginning July 1, 2009, by three-eighths of one percent on taxable sales until the year 2034?”
    Yes ……
    No ……

Whether you are for or against the proposed amendment, you may want to find more information about it before you vote on November 4th. The MN DNR has information available at http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/news/features/amendment.html.
